Today we celebrate the Feast of Saints Michael, Gabriel, and Raphael, archangels who are important in the Christian story. The entrance antiphon for the Mass says: "Bless the Lord, all you his angels, mighty in power, fulfilling his word, and heeding his voice."
We need our angels. We are not mighty in power, but we are all called to fulfill God's word and heed His voice. Let us pray to these archangels for the grace that we may continue to be defended and aided by God's special messengers.
The responsorial psalm is "In the sight of the angels I will sing your praise" so let us do that today and thank for having been given a special guardian angel to watch over us.
