Here is one last thought copied from Dayspring to keep you while I am away - I do count on your prayers!!
Think of it...
You belong to a God who has no limitations.
He is able to do things for you,
be mighty in you, and bring blessings to you.
His provisions are endless,
His blessings are measureless,
and His generosity is boundless.
All that is in His heart (for you)
flows out in waves of love.
They are sent to touch you, to fill you, and to cover you.
You cannot contain them for they are
more than your mind can imagine,
more than your arms can embrace,
and more than your heart can hold.
Now unto Him that is able to keep you from
falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of His glory
with exceeding joy, to the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and
majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen. Jude 1:24-25
I also added another Prayer Resource; it is Jesuit Prayer for Every Day - http://jesuitprayer.org and I have it listed on the right side of my blog.
Enjoy August and I will be back at the end of the month!
Daily reflections for prayer, growth in the spiritual life, and good prayer sources. This blog also has links to other websites. One feature is a list of spiritual books.

Off for vacation and retreat
This image is one I found when I was feeling the need to add "transparency" to my goals for the year and I remember writing a poem and posting it in my blog. I am sure I could find it if I went back a couple of years to look around the beginning of the New Year. Anyway, it struck me today that this is good to think about how I am living open, and transparent to the Lord. I am desiring my retreat and will not be writing my blog until the end of August.
I leave tomorrow for San Francisco and will be visiting friends until I go into retreat on August 10 to August 19 and beg your prayers for that time. Actually, I have the opportunity to prolong my retreat as I will be at the retreathouse in Santa Cruz from August 20-24 - it is on the ocean and I usually just sit and contemplate the immensity of the Pacific.
Have a good August and I will be back at the end of the month!

This is the castle of Ignatius of Loyola in Spain. I must say that I have loved every visit I have been able to make in Spain. I made it to the north of Spain the summer I taught a course on Teresa of Avila, John of the Cross, and Ignatius of Loyola in El Escorial and went with the students to Segovia, Toledo, and Avila. That was back in 1999 but I loved that time and also made Burgos, Barcelona, and Malta as well as Madrid.
I love this song that we used in the assembly. It is "Love Changes Everything" and I will give you the words:
Love , love changes everything,
hands and faces, earth and sky
Love, love changes everything.
How you live and how you die
Love, can make the summer fly,
Or a night seem like a lifetime
Yes, love, love changes everything.
Now I tremble at your name
Nothing in the world will ever be the same.
That is the just the first verse but will give you something to reflect on - I just finished Phil Kilroy's
"The Society of the Sacred Heart in France: 1800-1865" and really loved looking at the spirituality of the Society during those years. Now I shall go back and read it slowly! I am such a compulsive reader that I need to do this with all the spiritual books that speak to me; the second time I either mark them up or copy some quotes but definitely take more time to reflect on what I am reading.
