Third Station of Joy

According to this book on Joy by Evely, the next station of joy is Peter. But the author does not tell us that Jesus had come to Peter earlier. He begins by telling us how Jesus revealed himself again to his disciples by the Sea of Tiberias. I love the way it happened. Peter is bored and says, "I am going fishing." The disciples who are with him say, "We will go with you."
They set out, all seven of them, and that night caught nothing. Just as day was breaking, Jesus stood on the beach, but the disciples did not know it was Jesus. He asks them if they have caught any fish; he must know that they have not and are very tired and discouraged, but he asks them and then, when they reply in the negative, he tells them to cast their net on the right side of the boat and they will find some. They do so and the net is so full of fish that they cannot haul it into the boat.
"The disciple whom Jesus loved said to Peter, "It is the Lord!" When Peter heard this he could not wait for the boat to reach land but jumped into the sea. The others came in the boat dragging the net full of fish. They then saw that breakfast had been prepared for them as there was a charcoal fire with some fish on it and bread. Jesus was serving them breakfast. They knew it was the Lord, but none of them dared ask him - they just knew it was the risen Jesus.
Tomorrow we will look at what happened when they finished their breakfast. Now they are full of joy and have even counted the fish they caught when obeying the Lord.
