Sequence for the Mass of the Holy Spirit

Does this image convey the Holy Spirit at work in our daily lives?

Here is the promised Sequence:
Come, Holy Spirit, come!
And from your celestial home
Shed a ray of light divine!
Come, Father of the poor!
Come, source of all our store!
Come, within our bosoms shine.
You, of comforters the best;
You, the soul's most welcome guest;
Sweet refreshment here below;
In our labor, rest most sweet;
Grateful coolness in the heat;
Solace in the midst of woe.
O most blessed Light divine,
Shine within these hearts of yours,
And our inmost being fill!
Where you are not, we have naught,
Nothing good in deed or thought
Nothing free from taint of ill.
Heal our wounds, our strength renew;
On our dryness pour your dew;
Wash the stains of guilt away;
Bend the stubborn heart and will;
Melt the frozen, warm the chill;
Guide the steps that go astray.
On the faithful, who adore
And confess you, evermore
In your sevenfold gift descend;
Give them virtue's sure reward;
Give them your salvation, Lord; Give them joys that never end.
Amen. Alleluia.

I hope you were struck by a line and will take time to pray over it.

Helen,
"And our inmost being fill"
This is hte line thta struck me as I prayed it today. This past week I was trying to explain to an AA sponsee why I do not feel an anxious loneliness any more as she does. When the person to whom you are speaking does not have the same deep sense fo teh presence of JEsus tht you do it is difficult. All I could say was that I pray daily and ask Our Lord (God) to fill my inm ost being. And that I rpay for her to ahve the same. This si what I sk daily for all those whom I sponsor.
Thanks for the isea for prayer.
Happy Pentecost and Happy Birthday!

Thank, Cathy. I read that we are on a pilgrimage when we enter the mysterious presence of God in prayer. I think the idea came from John Main, but I like the idea that I am journeying deeper into the Heart of Christ when I sit in prayer.
