Third Sunday of Easter

I took this picture across from my window after supper the other evening. Our patio is beautiful!

We have talked about the two disciples on the way to Emmaus in the second station, but it is the Gospel for this Sunday and has so much material to reflect upon that we should stay with it today.
First, Jesus takes the initiative to go after these two who are so discouraged as they walk away from Jerusalem. Do we not often walk away when something is very disappointing, maybe something we cannot understand? Jesus draws near to them and to us. He asks us to tell him what is bothering us. He walks with us and explains many things as we walk together. Then, are we able to invite Him to stay with us? He will come into our hearts when we ask him to stay with us. He will reveal himself to us also in the breaking of the bread.
