Shrove Monday
The two days before Lent begins on Ash Wednesday are called Shrove Monday and Tuesday. While it would be good to think about what we might want to do for the Lord during the six weeks of Lent, many are just thinking of eating and drinking with parties and balls, especially in New Orleans where there are parades and great celebrations.
I put the symbol of Lent above on the blog today so that we can take a few moments to reflect and talk to God about what God might want us to do during Lent. These weeks are a preparation for us to be able to enter more fully into the Paschal Mystery, and to be able to rejoice more fully with the Lord on Easter when He is risen from the dead.
Let us spend some time today with the Lord.
