today is the Feast of a saint born and raised in America. Elizabeth Ann Bayley was born two years befor the American Revolution and raised as an Epicopalian. she married William Seton when twenty years old and had five children when he died. after hid death she became a Catholic and her family and friends turned from her.She took her children to Baltimore and started a Catholic school in a parish. Others joined her and formed the Sisters of Charity of St. Joseph in 1809.By her death in 1821 there were twenty schools and orphanages. She was canonized in 1975.
