Someone sent me this poem which I love. I think it may be from "The Stream and the Sapphire: Selected Poems on Religious Themes", a book of poetry by Denise Levertov.
As swimmers dare
to lie face to the sky
and water bears them,
as hawks rest upon air
and air sustains them,
so I would learn to attain
freefall, and float
into Creator Spirit's deep embrace,
knowing no effort earns
that all-surrounding grace.
Soon I will continue sharing from my Guided Imagery Retreat; it has been such a silent, rather isolated almost two weeks since I returned from the retreat. I wish I could say that I loved the opportunity to continue with the silence, but I think I never pray well when ill. I just sat in my chair!
