I guess the words from today's Gospel are what I want to share today. Jesus comes to the locked room on that first Easter night. The disciples, minus Thomas, are full of fear, but Jesus comes and stands in their midst and tells them: "Peace be with you."
After showing his friends his hands and his side, Jesus again says to them: "Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, so I send you." And then Jesus breathed on them and said, "Receive the Holy Spirit. Whose sins you forgive are forgiven them, and whose sins you retain are retained."
We, and the entire Church, have great need of the Holy Spirit in our lives today. Let us ask for the gifts of the Spirit and may we learn to be docile, attentive, and faithful to the inspirations of the Holy Spirit!
Then we will have peace - peace in our hearts and peace, hopefully, in our world.
