Nineteenth Sunday in Ordinary

The Gospel Acclamation for this Sunday is "Stay awake and be ready! For you do not know on what day your Lord will come."

The Gospel is from Luke 12:32-48 It tells us that we must be prepared. It also tells us not to be afraid any longer, "little flock, for your Father is pleased to give you the kingdom."

So we are to gird our loins and light our lamps and "be like the servants who await their master's returnn from a wedding, ready to open when he comes and knocks."

I think so many of our friends and relatives have lost lives during the past year due to Covid or other illnesses or just old age that we need to heed the readings from this Sunday and be aware that where our treasure is, there also will be our heart. God is faithful and calls us to respond to his love for each one of us. His love is infinite so let us be faithful and prudent servants.
