The Liturgy today is very consoling in many ways. The Collect is worth copying as we seldom are ready to really listen to it at the beginning of the Liturgy.
"Almighty and ever-living God, constantly accomplish the Paschal Mystery within us, that those you were pleases to make new in Holy Baptism may, under your protective care, bear much fruit and come to the joys of life eternal. We ask this through Our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever."
The first reading is from the Acts of the Apostles 14: 21-27. It tells us how Paul and Barnabas were able to proclaim the good news to other cities and open the door of faith to the Gentiles.
Responsorial Psalm: "I will praise your name for ever, my king and my God."
The second reading is from the Book of Revelation 21:1-5
The Gospel is John 13: 31-35
In the Gospel, Jesus is telling his apostles that he will be with them only a little while. He gives us the new commandment: "Love one another. As I have loved you, so you also should love one another. This is how all will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another."
