"Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly"

I was struck today by the verse before the Gospel: "Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly; giving thanks to God the Father through him. Alleluia, alleluia."

Let - implies that the word of Christ desires to dwell in me

the word of Christ - not other words, but what Jesus said - he is the Word of God

richly - not miserly, not sparsely, but richly, abundantly, fruitfully

giving thanks - the attitude of gratefulness that I choose to live my day, my life

to God the Father through Jesus - and all of this is the work of the Spirit within!

Alleuia, alleluia - gratitude gives joy and I need only to let the Word of Christ dwell in me richly and give thanks to feel this joy.

Helen, I loved this! Just like you, adverbs are wonderful teachers. Some of my most frequent questions begin with "how". Richly is a great answer.Thanks. Jane.
