Friday within the Octave of Easter

Today is my very favorite apparition. Jesus waits for his friends who have been fishing all night. As they have caught nothing, they are tired and discouraged, probably wet and hungry and cold. Jesus comes to them and first asks they if they have caught any fish. When they respond saying they have toiled all night and caught nothing, Jesus tells them to cast the net to the right of the boat. They do so and the net is so filled with fish that it is almost breaking. John recognizes the Risen Jesus on the shore so Peter leaps into the water to get to Jesus. Jesus has been busy preparing breakfast for his disciples. He serves them bread and fish and then He will ask Peter three times: "Do you love me?"

He asks each of us the same and tells us to feed His sheep.
