Last day of April

Our roses are blooming and mingle now with our tulips, and other flowers that bloom in Spring. The graduation of our seniors is set for May 22 so I am really looking forward to my visits with my three seniors by zoom. We only have three weeks left, but I think that they will want to continue meeting, at least some weeks before they are off to college.

This quote from Annie Dillard's Teaching a Stone to Talk lends itself to further reflection. She says:

"The silence is all there is. It is the alpha and the omega, it is God's brooding over the face of the waters; it is the blinded note of the ten thousand things, the whine of wings. You take a step in the right direction to pray to this silence...."

God is found in silence and this year of the pandemic has found many discovering the gift of silence.
